Sparta dentists to benefit local hospice

SPARTA — The month of November is National Hospice Month and for the 20th year, Dr. Edward Tirpack, Dr. Seth Perlmutter and Dr. Kathleen Dunn, of Sparta Dental Designs will celebrate the work of Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice by hosting Dental Day for Hospice.

The event will be held on Monday, Nov. 3 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Sparta Dental Designs office located on 16 Lafayette Road in Sparta.

The community, including new patients, are welcome to participate in Dental Day by scheduling an appointment for routine dental services including dental work, exams, x-rays and screenings. Dentists and their professional team will donate their time for this event and give proceeds for the day to Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice.

Edward and Laura Tirpack have embraced the hospice mission for over two decades serving as board members and volunteers committed to progressing the hospice mission.

“Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice is a not-for-profit organization and they will treat any patient regardless of their ability to pay,” Edward said. “That’s what inspired me. I hope to make the community more aware of hospice care and what services are in place to support patients and their family members.”

The Friends of Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice, a local group of individuals committed to the hospice mission, supports the efforts of participating practices by being present on the day of the event with information and give-aways in-hand.

“It is our privilege to listen to how our agency touched the lives of a loved one, acquaintance or neighbor,” said Bea Smith, Friends of Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice member, “and an excellent opportunity for us to continue the conversation by sharing details about outreaches available to the community, including bereavement support groups, fundraisers and annual memorials.”

“The commitment to Dental Day for Hospice from the doctors and the Sparta Dental Designs team is truly appreciated and has helped many, many patients and family members throughout Sussex and Warren Counties in New Jersey and Pike County, Pennsylvania from the revenue it has generated since its inception in 1993,” said Lisa O’Hara, President of Friends of Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice.
