Sparta Squires National Service Awards
Sparta - For an unprecedented 9th year in a row, the Saint Kateri Columbian Squires Circle #5177 has been recognized by the Knights of Columbus Supreme Headquarters in New Haven, CT.
The Sparta Squires received the Brother Barnabas Founder’s Award for their “Puerto Rico Relief” project. Squire brothers Jack and Riley Maldonado served as the project captains. This award is only given to the top 25 unique service projects worldwide.
Additionally, the Sparta group also received the Corps di Elite award given to the top 15 circles worldwide based on an overall composite ranking of circle, parish, and community service. This award is only given to the top 15 Squire circles in the world.
Squires Chief Counselor Nick Cutrone noted: “We are so proud of these young men. They have maintained a level of consistency and dedication that is often rare in today’s society.”
