Teachers roll up their sleeves to raise money

SPARTA — Helen Morgan School teachers rolled up their sleeves to serve up ices, gelatis, custards, and other frozen concoctions at the local Rita's Italian Ice to benefit the Helen Morgan School Parent Teacher Organization on Wednesday, Sept. 24.
Teachers took over from behind the counter for a Celebrity Scoop Night, and 20 percent of the proceeds and 100 percent of the tips went to the PTO from 5 to 8 p.m.
Students who signed in during those hours were in the running to help their class win extra recess by attending the event.
Around 14 teachers participated in the event.
