The Golden Pineapple, Amazon support woman's club
Hopatcong — The Golden Pineapple, located at 131 Howard Blvd, Mt. Arlington has generously offered a win-win-win deal for the Hopatcong Woman's Club. On Wednesday, November 29 (10am – 7pm), shoppers will receive a 10% discount by mentioning Hopatcong Woman’s Club at checkout. As if that weren’t enough, they will donate 25% of sales to the HWC. The final “win” is that shoppers will be introduced to this wonderful local store and its owners, offering a variety of lake-inspired and Holiday gift items.
We are pleased to have yet another way for individuals to support our Club, by simply shopping the way they normally would through Amazon online. At no additional charge for purchases, Amazon will send funds monthly to our organization, based on purchases of those who have indicated our Club as the beneficiary of charitable efforts. Go to www.Smile.Amazon.com instead of www.Amazon.com. If you already have an Amazon account, sign in with same user name and password. You’ll see the word SUPPORTING right under the search box. When you type in Hopatcong, you’ll see the club name populate the field. Click on it and then shop away! Your efforts are greatly appreciated. Tell your friends!
Our efforts with DASI (Domestic Abuse & Sexual Assault Intervention Services) are ongoing. Donations of most items are needed, for victims and survivors of domestic and sexual violence and their families in Sussex County. For more information, or to donate items, Contact Pat Beach 201-738-0733, go to www.dasi.org or visit the Morning Glory Shop in Andover (134 Main Street).
Local food pantry items are always in need, and HWC has collection bins throughout the town for non-perishable donation. As of October 26th, 3,235 lbs. of food have been collected. Current collection sites include: The Hopatcong Post Office, Borough Hall, Skylands Medical Group, The Medicine Shoppe, and Santander Bank (no glass please). We look forward to providing for those in need throughout the 2017/2018 winter months by way of the West Side Methodist Church.
Tom and Carolyn Lynch had spearheaded the food collection, weighing, reporting and distribution for our club for many years. Sadly, Tom passed away in August. Our thoughts and prayers are with Carolyn and her family, and we thank them sincerely for their many years of dedicated service to our club and the community. Norma Rung has generously given her time to the food collection effort since then.

All local women looking to form new friendships and to find a special niche or pet project of interest are encouraged to contact us! For those interested in evening meetings, we will resume in March, but you may call Cyndi Marinese at 973-945-9049 for more information between now and then.
