Troop 150 at Resica Falls
SPARTA — It's always a magical time of year when scouts wave their parents goodbye, load their bags onto the trailer, and hit the road for a fun-filled week of memories. As they pull into Resica Falls, PA their faces are pressed up on the glass. After the wide-eyed scouts check in at the office they grab their towel and a bathing suit and take the swim test. They then return to camp and set up their sleeping quarters. After some fun at the parade field playing gaga, basketball, and many different games the scouts retreated to their tents to get ready for dinner.
The next morning Troop 150 woke up at 6:30 AM sharp to pack their daypacks, apply sunscreen, and head off to morning colors for the flag raising and attendance. The scouts have breakfast and then head off in various directions for their first merit badge class of the day.
Throughout the week scouts continued with daily merit badges with some exciting adventures around Resica such as finding the golden coconut, field games, and much more. A Troop 150 favorite is the trading post, a small shop where the scouts buy snacks and drinks along with some gear.
Going home and packing up is always hard. After saying goodbye to fellow troops and signing out you always have a very sad feeling leaving the great place of Resica Falls.
Sparta Troop 150 meets at 7:00pm on Mondays at the Sparta United Methodist Church. For more information visit us at a meeting or www.spartatroop150.org or like us on Facebook at Sparta Troop 150-BSA.
