— To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the iconic children’s book character from the Where’s Waldo? series and to continue the Find Waldo Local tradition, Waldo will be visiting main streets across the country for his 6th consecutive summer. Sparta Books will again be hosting a Find Waldo Scavenger Hunt while spreading the “shop local” message in Sparta.
Candlewick Press, a children’s book publisher based in Somerville, MA, has once again partnered with the American Booksellers Association in an impressive month long consumer promotion that seeks to drive in-store traffic, strengthen local business alliances, and engage community members to spread the “shop local” message.
Over the past 5 years, Find Waldo Local has become a summer activity staple in over 450 communities nationwide. Local customers can stop by Sparta Books or call 973-729-6200 to register for this fun event that takes place the entire month of July. Waldo will be hiding in 25 business throughout Sparta, and participants of the program are encouraged to search for the elusive character.
Sparta Books has attested that store traffic and book sales increased exponentially during their Waldo search events in the last five years. A bonus for retailers was the depth of collaboration with other local businesses and community alliances that continually seek ways to rejuvenate and revitalize local shopping districts.
How does Find Waldo Local work? On July 1, 2017, Waldo-spotters will set off to find the elusive character. A grand finale party with prizes will be held at Sparta Books on Monday, July 31st from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. For more information and to register, please visit Sparta Books at 29 Theatre Center or call 973-729-6200.
