Local students make university honor rolls
Sparta - Jacqueline Marie Palmer of Sparta, was named to the president’s honor roll at Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, Okla., for the fall 2005 semester. Palmer is a special education major at the Christian liberal arts university, which has an overall enrollment of 1,649, with students from 39 states and 18 other countries. Students who achieve a semester grade point average of 3.7 or higher are named to the president’s honor roll. Those who achieve a grade point average between 3.4 and 3.69 are named to the dean’s list. Karyn A. Miller of Sparta has been named to second honors on the Clark University dean’s list. The selection marks outstanding academic achievement during the fall 2005 semester. Miller, a member of Clark University’s class of 2008, attended Sparta High School. To be eligible for second honors, students must have a grade point average of 3.5 or higher, of a maximum of 4.3 (all A+s). Located in Worcester, Mass., Clark is a private, co-educational liberal-arts research university with 2,000 undergraduate and 600 graduate students.
