National Education Week

    A student from each of Sparta's public schools was selected to be honored as part of American Education Week (Nov. 15-19). The students were presented with proclamations by Sparta Township Mayor Scott Segaly. The Sparta Town Council and the principals of each school joined in the celebrations held on Monday, Nov. 15 at the Mohawk Avenue School. The students were chosen by their teachers and principals based on their academic performance and overall character. The students honored are: Alpine Elementary School, 4th grade, Conner Claffey. Helen Morgan Elementary School, 4th grade, Carissa Mason. Mohawk Avenue School, 5th grade, Steven Lee. Sparta Middle School, 8th grade, Ashley Helthall. Sparta High School, 12th grade, Stephanie Molina.
