Newton — Shashidar S. Reddy, an ear, nose and throat specialist in Sparta, has become one of the newest physicians at Newton Memorial Hospital. His expertise will complement ENT services offered by Warren L. Galeos, M.D., who has been on-staff at Newton Memorial for 22 years and the only local provider of these services for much of that time. “Dr. Galeos has been an important part of Newton Memorial Hospital for many years and has been the go-to guy when ENT services are needed on an emergeny basis,” hospital Vice President of Medical Affairs David Lazarus, M.D., said. “By adding Dr. Reddy, Newton Memorial is providing another specialist who can handle these matters, thereby enhancing access to healthcare for residents of this community.” Reddy joins the Medical and Surgical Specialty Group at the Sparta Health and Wellness Center. Previously, he was part of an eight-man practice based in Teaneck. He received his Medical Degree from Louisiana State University, where he also received a Master’s Degree in Public Health. He completed his Otolaryngology residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch. Board Certified in Otolaryngology, Reddy’s repertoire includes a non-painful procedure to reduce or eliminate chronic snoring. Many of the services he provides can be handled in his office, but he also is an expert in Sinus Surgery, Sleep Apnea and Snoring Procedures, Thyroid and Parathyroid Surgery as well as Salivary Gland Surgery. “I chose Otolaryngology because it offers a good combination of being able to treat people in an office with regular medicine and it allows me to go to the OR to use my hands to help people,” Reddy said. “It’s the best of both worlds.” For more information or to schedule an appointment with Reddy, call 973-940-8100.
