New hours for FEMA office in Sussex County

    Sparta -- At the request of Sussex County officials, the hours for the Sussex County Disaster Recovery Center have changed. The office is located at the Sussex County Technical School on Route 94. Hours are now Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; closed Sundays, except for the following dates: Sept. 15: 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Oct. 11: 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Oct. 12: 7:30 to 11 a.m. Oct. 18: 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Residents are urged to register before visiting the Disaster Recovery Office. There are three ways to register. At www.disasterassistance.gov, or m.fema.gov or by calling FEMA toll-free, 800-621-3362 (FEMA). Those with access or functional needs and who use a TTY can call 800-462-7585 or use 711 or Video Relay Service to call 800-621-3362. Telephone lines are open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Multilingual operators are available. The center offers information about eligibility for assistance through state and federal programs, including Small Business Administration help, as well as counseling.
