Vernon - The new On Stage at the Loft Performing Arts Center located in Viking Village on Route 94 in McAfee offers cultural, artistic, theatrical and musical workshops and events to area residents. “Our wide variety of workshops and events are geared to both adults and children,” said director Cindy Diskin. “Our goal is to expose people of all ages to the many languages of the arts and to build confidence and skills in their craft that will permanently enrich their lives.” Among the many classes and workshops offered are: theater; musical theater; kinder-acting and music classes, including guitar and piano; playwriting and photography. Sunday’s at the Loft is an ongoing series that takes place in a Soho-like relaxed café setting in which people are encouraged to mingle and share their creative and cultural interests with one another. “It’s a privilege to share the gift of theater and the arts then sit back, relax and let the magic begin,” said Diskin. Diskin studied music at Berklee College of Music in Boston and at Northeastern University. She has appeared in a number of films, including Anger Management, Night Shift, Falling in Love and New York Nights. She most recently appeared in the feature film Twelve and Holding with Tim Robbins and Annabella Sciorra, which came out in August of this year. For more information, call 973-827-2773.
