Paul Bagordo and Ashley Lalley of Sparta have been recognized on the dean’s list at Norwich University in Northfield, Vt., for the fall 2005 semester. Bagordo is a business administration management major. Lally is majoring in studies in war and peace. Norwich is a diversified academic institution that educates traditional-age students in a Corps of Cadets, as civilians, and as adult students. Founded in 1819 by U.S. Army Capt. Alden Partridge, Norwich University is the oldest private military college in the U.S. Lauren Lewandowski of Sparta, a sophomore at the University of Delaware, is currently studying abroad at the University’s Centre in London for the winter session. She is taking classes in British history and political science, traveling throughout England, Scotland and Ireland. Lewandowski, the daughter of Steve and Jane Lewandowski, is a history education major. She graduated from Sparta High School in 2004. Two Sparta residents were among the 1,373 Lehigh University students named to the dean’s List for the fall 2005 semester. Names were announced by Sharon K. Basso, dean of students. The students are Samantha Raimo and Thomas Miller. At the end of each semester, the dean of students publishes a list of all full-time undergraduates who during that semester made a scholastic average of 3.50 or better and carried at least 12 hours of regularly graded courses. Students entering Lehigh from the fall of 2004 and beyond are required to earn a grade point average of 3.6 or higher to attain dean’s list status. Lehigh, with more than 6,500 students, is centrally situated in the Lehigh Valley of Pennsylvania, between Washington and Boston, and is less than 90 miles from both New York and Philadelphia.
