Participants needed for mental health focus group

    Newton — The Sussex County Division of Community and Youth Services, in collaboration with the Mental Health Board and the Professional Advisory Committee, is sponsoring a final community-based focus group to gather information about the mental health needs of Sussex County residents in order to revise the County Mental Health Plan. The final focus group is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 30, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., in the Fellowship Hall at the First Presbyterian Church of Newton, 54 High Street, Newton. Three focus groups were conducted in July, August and September of this year to gather information from the community about mental health services. New and former participants are invited to this fourth and final Mental Health Focus Group to review information gathered at previous meetings and discuss future plans. This focus group will provide participants with the opportunity to be a vital component in shaping Mental Health Services in Sussex County. A hot meal prepared by Manna House will be served from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., followed by the presentation and discussion from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The Sussex County Mental Health Board is dedicated to promoting access and availability to efficient and effective mental health services for the citizens of Sussex County.
