Cocaine and currency found
On March 25, the Byram Township Police Department responded to a residence for a report of an unwanted male at the residence. While patrols were enroute to the call, they were advised that the male party had left in a vehicle.
One of the officers observed the vehicle in the area and conducted a motor vehicle stop. After speaking to the accused, Andrezj Szyszko, the officer felt Szyszko may be intoxicated. Szyszko was asked to perform several field sobriety tests, which he failed.
Szyszko was arrested and during a subsequent search of Szyszko and his vehicle, several containers of cocaine and a large sum of currency were found.
Szyszko was transported to the station where he was charged with the following and released pending a mandatory Sussex County Superior Court date: Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute, Under the Influence of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, Operating a Motor Vehicle While Suspended from a Second DWI, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Driving While Intoxicated, Driving a Motor Vehicle Without an Interlock Device, Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance in a Motor Vehicle, Driving While Suspended and Failure to Surrender a Suspended Driver’s License.
Crash leads to DWI charge
On March 26, the Byram Township Police Department responded to a motor vehicle crash on Lackawanna Drive. While speaking to the juvenile driver, the officer felt the driver may be intoxicated. The driver was asked to perform several field sobriety tests, which he failed.
The driver was arrested and transported to the station where he consented to and failed two breath tests.
He was charged with the following and released to a family member pending a mandatory Andover-Joint Municipal Court date: Driving While Intoxicated, Underage Driving While Intoxicated, Provisional Driver’s License Violation, and Careless Driving.
‘Donuts’ in the park
On March 27, the Byram Township Police Department received a report of two vehicles driving erratically by doing “donuts” in the top gravel parking lot of C.O. Park. Due to the Byram Township patrols being on another call, an Andover Township Police Department patrol unit responded.
It was then determined that Trevor Arnott of Byram Township was driving erratically by doing “donuts” around the other vehicle that was in the parking lot.
Byram Township Police units arrived and arrested Arnott, who was charged with Criminal Mischief. He was transported to the station, processed and released pending a mandatory Andover-Joint Municipal Court date.
