Newton - Project Self-Sufficiency will offer a free legal clinic at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 2, at the agency’s Career Center Office, located on the first floor at 61 Spring St. in Newton. The non-profit organization has teamed up with local attorneys to sponsor a program to help participants prepare and file family law motions, particularly in the areas of child support, visitation and custody. The clinic, which does not provide legal representation, consists of meeting with an attorney, who assists participants to properly complete paperwork. Theresa Markham, local attorney, will facilitate the Feb. 2 clinic. Although the clinic is open to the public, participants must meet eligibility requirements. For information, call 383-5129.
