Redfern Memorial raises $62,000

    SPARTA-The Frank Redfern Memorial Open held by the Newton Memorial Hospital Foundation netted more than $62,000 this year, making it the foundation's most successful outing. The golf outing was held at the Lake Mohawk Golf Club located in Sparta, and was co-chaired by Dick Roberto and Mark Avondoglio of Perona Farms. "With all the work that is put into the golf outing by the volunteers and staff of the Foundation, it is gratifying that this event is so successful," the chairmen said in a press release. The Grand Event sponsors for the outing were: Reed Smith, LLP and Turner Construction Company. The proceeds will go towards an expansion project that includes the new Charles L. Tice Heart Center for diagnostics services of Newton Memorial Hospital. Bell BMW sponsored the dinner, and the Lake Mohawk Golf Club board of trustees donated the green fees valued at $9,000.
