‘Rolling Thoughts' gather more honors

    Sussex County - The 2005 issue of “Rolling Thoughts” magazine, the literary magazine of Sussex Middle School, has received a first place award in the American Scholastic Press Association’s annual magazine competition. It has also been awarded the honor of “Most Outstanding Middle School Literary Magazine for 2005”. The magazine featured poems, short stories, and artwork from over 65 pupils in sixth, seventh, and eighth grades. The staff of pupils, comprised of Joan Beihl, Elissa Kenyan, Donniel Woloszyn, Melissa Dilts, Alissa Mathes, Caitlin Vogel, Chelsea Deutsch, Elizabeth Plainicky, and Samantha Armitage worked over the course of the 2004-2005 school year to put together this edition of “Rolling Thoughts”. The teacher advisor of Sussex Middle School’s “Rolling Thoughts” is Tracy Ison. The front and back covers of the magazine featured artwork from Caitlin Vogel and Haven Krynicky. “Rolling Thoughts” has been recognized by the American Scholastic Press Association for 12 consecutive years. The magazine has received 4-second place awards and 8 first place awards. It has also received “Most Outstanding Middle School Literary Magazine” three times.
