The Junior Woman’s Club of Sparta last week completed its 18th Annual Safety Village program, a comprehensive educational program on personal safety offered to local children entering kindergarten this fall. The event brings together representatives from different areas of the community, from the Red Cross, to the Sparta Police Department, to martial art instructors, to teach children how to protect themselves against danger. Some 112 children took part in this year’s program.
