SCCC adds third summer session
Newton - Sussex County Community College students has added a third summer session of courses for students who are currently enrolled at SCCC or those who are home for the summer from another college or university. Many students find that taking courses over the summer can take some of the pressure off the regular academic schedules they face in the fall and spring semesters. Summer session III begins in early July and was designed with high school graduation dates in mind. Sussex Community is offering more than 150 credit courses this summer in subjects that are transferable to almost any college program. The counseling center at at the college is available to students with concerns about the transferability of a course. The summer courses provide an inexpensive way for students to get ahead or catch up with their program of study. A wide array of courses is available, from business and economics to English and psychology. The summer curriculum includes introductory as well as upper level courses. Summer session I offers day classes beginning May 22 and running through June 14. Session II offers both day and evening courses, and runs from June 19 through August 3. The new session III will begin July 5 and run through Aug. 10. A number of English as a second language courses will also be offered throughout the summer, as well as a selection of distance learning courses. Summer registration is now open.
