Schiavoni honored for lifetime excellence in the human resources field
FAIRFIELD - Michael Schiavoni, Sparta resident and 35-year veteran in the leader development and human resources fields, earned the Charles T. Morgan Award, the highest Human Resources honor given by the Northern New Jersey Chapter. American Society for Training and Development (NNJ-ASTD). Schiavoni, a past president and a long-time ASTD Board member, received the Lifetime Excellence award during a chapter meeting on Dec. 12. Schiavoni, President, Schiavoni Leadership Group LLC, has had a distinguished career that included 25 years as a HR executive with General Electric. Schiavoni received three management awards at GE and the GE Leader Award for Outstanding Community Service. Schiavoni also spent five years at Becton Dickinson, where he was Vice President, Human Resources Europe. In 2000, Schiavoni launched his own leadership development consulting practice. As an executive coach, Schiavoni has developed foreign national and ex-pat leaders in North America, Europe, Asia and South America. He has also specialized in coaching Newly Appointed Leaders with national recognition for his New Leader Assimilation Program. Schiavoni, who lives with his wife Suzanne in Sparta, is President of the Sparta Board of Education and Chair of People in Crisis-United Way Morris County.
