Scholarships available for substance-abuse prevention
NEWTON - Scholarships are available to for those wishing to continue their education at the Center for Prevention and Counseling’s School of Health and Addiction Studies in Newton. The school offers various workshops and classes in substance-abuse prevention and treatment, covering topics including Prevention Education for Teens, Pharmacology of Drugs, Addiction and Recovery, Drug Abuse Versus Drug Addiction, and Adult Children of Alcoholics. The classes are designed to inform professionals in the field, as well as teachers, parents, and community members. To receive a scholarship, a student must have income below $50,000 and must live or work in New Jersey. Scholarships cannot be granted to employees of the Department of Human Services or any other state employee.
