Facilities Project Update The Sparta Middle School was the host site of the seventh meeting of the Community Facilities Task (CFT) Force on May 12. About an hour was spent by the subcommittees finalizing summaries and reports they would be presenting to the larger group. The chair people from each of the subcommittees presented the findings of their group and solicited comments and questions. Suggestions were made for further review. At the conclusion of the evening, the CFT agreed to work for two more weeks to review data and to question various professionals and district administrators. Thereafter the chair people will consolidate the data to develop a prioritized list of recommendations, based on consensus, to present to the board of education in June. The meeting was officially adjourned at 10:45 p.m. The next CFT meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, May 19 at 7 p.m. in the Mohawk Avenue School. Naomi Pagano, Sparta Schools' Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Staff Development and Architect William R. Corfield, Jr. of the Spiezle Architectural Group, are expected to meet with several of the subcommittees on that evening. Visit the district's web site at sparta.org for additional details. Questions about the committee, facilities or related questions can be e-mailed to tmorton@sparta.org. Questions and responses will be posted on the web site on an ongoing basis.
