SPARTA — Despite the unwelcome nor’easter that came through Sparta Oct. 29 many friends, patrons and fans of Sparta Books showed to volunteer their time to help move the store. “We never could have accomplished what we did in one day without the help of everyone. I can’t believe people showed up despite the weather and their own issues with no power, downed trees and 17 inches of snow,” said owner Donna Fell. On Nov. 1 Sparta Books opened their doors in their new location just five doors down from their original location. Fell took an opportunity to move the store to what she felt was visually a better location. “I wanted to cozy up the store, add more seating, add more of my own personality and who doesn’t think a book store and coffee shop go hand-in-hand? We will continue to service our customers in the same way we always have with great book recommendations, quick turn around time for special orders, and a great inventory of books, cards, magazines and educational toys.”
