Sparta - Celebrated local children’s author Dianne Ochiltree, formerly of Sparta, will be making a special appearance at Sparta Books on Saturday, June 17, to celebrate the release of her latest book, “Lull-A-Bye, Little One.” The event, which will be jointly hosted by Sparta Books and Project Self-Sufficiency, offers parents a chance to get their children out of the house and away from Saturday morning TV to hear a nationally recognized author read her brand new book. Ochiltree will personally autograph copies of her book during the event, and Sparta Books will graciously donate proceeds from book sales to Project Self-Sufficiency, a Sussex County nonprofit organization devoted to improving the lives of single parents, teen parents, displaced homemakers and their children. Ochiltree will present two morning readings, the first at 9:30 a.m. and the second at 10:30 a.m. As her story is a bedtime tale, children are encouraged to come in their pajamas. The bookstore will be transformed into a dreamland of pillows and blankets for the occasion. Muffins, donuts and juice will be provided. For parents, Green’s Beans will be donating some of their delectable coffee for the event. The June 17 event is free and open to the public. However, registration is required and those who wish to attend are encouraged to call early, as space is limited. Please RSVP to Project Self-Sufficiency at 973-383-5129.
