Sparta marketing students win awards at DECA conference
Sparta - Marketing students from Sparta High School journeyed to the County College of Morris in January to compete in the Northern N.J. DECA Conference. The students competed in different fields of endeavor ranging from sports and entertainment marketing, to fashion merchandising, for a chance to move on to the state conference competition to be held later this month in Cherry Hill. Performing role-plays in front of professional judges, all of whom are members of business and industry, as well as in written tests relating to specific marketing areas, Sparta students won 85 awards. More than 55 students will represent Sparta DECA at the state competition. All students in the marketing program at Sparta High School are eligible to be a part of DECA. Sparta DECA has grown to over 100 students. Their continued success has enabled students to attend regional, state, and national competitions throughout the country.
