Sparta - The Crash Moderns, a band made up mainly of N.J. natives, including Matt Jaworski of Sparta, was selected by XM Radio to be the opening act for the Bon Jovi concert scheduled for Dec. 19 at the Meadowlands Arena. Besides Jaworski, 25, the band includes Danny Roselle of Summit and Jon Matias of Union, as well as Eric Shean of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Spicy O’Neal of NYC. Jaworski plays keyboards and often does background vocals for the group. The Crash Moderns have toured extensively throughout the Midwest and Florida, and have also opened for Lifehouse and Bowling for Soup. The group has performed at many Greenwich Village clubs, including CBGB’s, the Mercury Lounge, and Sine’, as well as the House of Blues in Chicago. The group had never played before an audience as large as the Dec. 19 crowd at the Meadowlands. Jaworski said playing for Bon Jovi, a fellow N.J. native, was “a great honor” for himself and fellow band members. For information on the Crash Moderns, visit online at thecrashmoderns.com.
