Sparta players support injured Scarlet Knight

Sparta Little League Football and Wallkill Valley were invited to attend the Rutgers University Homecoming game against navy on Saturday Oct. 15. The invitation came from the Rutgers Athletic department as a thank you for the two leagues who held a fundraiser football game in Support of Eric LeGrand, a Rutger’s player who was seriously injured while playing against Army in 2010. The two leagues came together to be on the Scarlet Walk which is where the Rutgers Players enter the stadium. From there, all the players were able to meet Eric LeGrand prior to the game. The players and families then got to sit back and enjoy Rutgers beat Navy 21 to 20.
