    January 17 At 1:10 p.m., Officer Rob Eraser stopped a KIA on Sparta Junction for cutting off another vehicle. Further investigation resulted in the operator, Jason Babcock, 26, of West Winfield, N.Y. being charged with driving while suspended and careless driving. His passenger, Tracy Happe, 32, of Hamburg, was charged with possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia. Both were later released. At 7:21 p.m., Sparta police received a report out of West Milford of a hit and run accident involving a gray pick-up truck headed to Ridge Road. A short time later the truck passed Officer Adam Carbery on Glen Road and was stopped near the 300 block. Further investigation resulted in the arrest of the driver, Bruce Jones, 54, of Newton. He was charged with failing to keep right, failing to maintain the lights on his truck and DWI. He was later released and instructed to contact the West Milford police. January 18 At 12:45 p.m., Officer Marc Rubino observed a car fail to stop at the intersection of South Shore Trail and West Shore Trail. After stopping the car on West Shore near the playground, further investigation resulted in the arrest of the driver, Jonathan Mobile, 31, of Sparta. He was charged with failing to stop, failing to keep right, failing to exhibit insurance card, careless driving and DWI. He was later released. January 19 At l:53 a.m., Sgt John Paul Beebe observed a Durango traveling in White Deer Plaza at a high rate of speed. After stopping the vehicle on Cedar Tree Lane, the operator, Jerome Mastrofilippo, 21, of Sparta, was arrested and charged with reckless driving, careless driving, failing to stop at a red light, failing to yield to an emergency vehicle, DWI, and refusing to submit to a breath test. He was later released.
