    February 21 At 1:l6 a.m., a car driven by Bradford Wulf, 21, of Sparta, left the roadway on Hillside Road and struck some trees. Sparta first aid and fire departments responded and Wulf was taken to Morristown Hospital by North Star medi-vac. Investigating officer Dave Pridham charged Wulf with reckless driving, failing to wear a seat belt, failing to keep right, driving while suspended and driving while intoxicated. At 10:57 p.m., officer Joe Antonello stopped a pick-up truck on Route 94 near White Lake Road for failing to maintain a lane of travel. Further investigation resulted in the arrest of the driver, Christian Petersen, 24, of Sparta. He was charged with failing to maintain a lane of travel, having a view obstruction, driving while intoxicated and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a vehicle. His passenger, William Shawger, 24, of Sparta, was charged with possession of marijuana. Both were later released. February 22 At 10:30 p.m., Officer Lewis Brown observed a car strike a sign in the median on Route 15 North. After stopping the car at Sparta Junction, further investigation resulted in the arrest of the driver, Laura McKernan, 18, of Oak Ridge. She was charged with failing to maintain a lane, crossing the median, wrong way on a highway, leaving the scene of an accident, failing to report an accident, no seat belt, failing to produce documents, driving while intoxicated, underage driving while intoxicated, controlled dangerous substance in a vehicle, open alcohol beverage in a vehicle, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of alcohol and possession of a fictitious license. She was released to Newton Hospital for treatment due to intoxication. February 23 At approximately 4:06 p.m., Ptl. Frank Schomp responded to a motor vehicle accident on State Highway Route 15 near the Bagel Station. A vehicle driven by Sharon Davis, of Edison, was stopped in traffic when she was struck from behind by a vehicle driven by Robert McCarthy, 47, of Milford, Pa. McCarthy was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, consumption of an alcoholic beverage in a vehicle, open container of alcoholic beverage, littering and two counts of assault by auto. McCarthy was advised of his mandatory court date in Sparta Court. Davis and a passenger in her vehicle, Carrie Caballero, of Edison, were transported to Newton Hospital to be treated for their injuries. Sgt. Beebe assisted. February 24 At approximately 10:36 p.m., Ptl. Brian Hassloch observed a vehicle traveling on Pine Cone Lane at a high rate of speed. After stopping the vehicle, further investigation resulted in the arrest of the driver, Michael D. Ragsdale, 22, of Newton. Ragsdale was charged with driving while intoxicated. speeding, failure to exhibit documents and given criminal summonses for possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released pending a mandatory court date in Sparta Court. February 25 At approximately l:42 a.m., Ptl. Marc Rubino and Ptl. Scot Elig observed a vehicle traveling on West Shore Trail at a high rate of speed. After stopping the vehicle, further investigation resulted in the arrest of the driver, Jeru King, Jr., 26, of Newton. He was charged with speeding, driving while intoxicated, careless driving and failure to notify change of address. He was released pending a mandatory court date in Sparta Court. At approximately 4:26 p.m., Ptl. Kurt Morris was dispatched to the Stop and Shop Supermarket to investigate a case of prescription fraud. Further investigation resulted in the arrest of Heather Tuscony, 41 of Sparta. She was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled dangerous substance, fraudulently obtaining a prescription and being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance. Tuscony was then turned over to the Sparta First Aid Squad and transported to Newton Hospital. Sgt Beebe, Ptl. Mueller and Ptl. Grauerholz assisted in the arrest. February 26 At approximately 10:55 p.m., Ptl. Robert Fraser observed a vehicle drifting between lanes while traveling northbound on State Highway Route 15. After stopping the vehicle, further investigation resulted in the arrest of the driver, Ricky A. Ackerley, 20, of Port Jervis, N.Y. Ackerley was charged with failure to maintain lane of travel, driving while suspended, and no driver’s license in possession, Two passengers in the vehicle, Michael Becker, 19, of Sparrowbush, N.Y., and Jennifer Korowaj, 27, of Sussex were charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and released pending a mandatory court date in Sparta Court. Cpl. Lou Takacs, Ptl. Joe Antonello, Ptl. Dave Pridham and Ptl. Lewis Brown assisted in the arrests.
