Sept. 29 Ptl. David Pridham was on routine patrol at 5:11 p.m. on Woodport Road, when he observed a green Mitsubishi traveling at a high rate of speed. After the vehicle was stopped, a second officer, Brian Hassloch approached the vehicle from the passenger side. Ptl. Hassloch observed a handgun on the floor in front of the passengers seat. The driver, Steven Hauswirth, age 25, of Dumore, Penn. was placed under arrest.A 40 caliber Glock semi-automatic pistol was seized. Hauswirth was transported to the police department for processing.Hauswirth had a handgun carry permit which was issued in Pennsylvania. He was charged with unlawful possession of a handgun and possession of hollow point ammunition. He was released pending a required court appearance. Sparta Police responded to 30 Tracy Lane for a report of an unresponsive 19 year- old male at l:16 a.m. Police found Peter Gramlich lying on the bathroom floor. He appeared to be intoxicated. Police were simultaneously investigating a report of an accident that had occurred on Old Cedar Drive. It was determined that Gramlich had been driving the vehicle that was involved in the earlier motor vehicle accident. Due to his condition Gramlich was transported to Newton Hospital for observation. He was charged with DWI, underage DWI, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to report an accident and careless driving. Sept. 30 Ptl, Brian Hassloch radioed that a black Volvo had almost collided head on with him on Main Street at 12:32 a.m. Ptl. Craig Grauerhote stopped the vehicle on Old Burg Road. The driver Patricia Potter, age 30, of Sparta was arrested for DWI. She was transported to the police department for processing. Potter was additionally charged with failure to maintain lane, maintenance of lamps, unregistered vehicle and failure to notify change of address. She was released pending a required court appearance. Cpl. Lou Takacs was on routine patrol at 1:58 a.m. when he observed a green Mazda being operated in an erratic manner on East Mountain Road. The driver, Dominic Garcia, age 32, of Sparta was arrested for DWI. He was transported to the police department for processing. Garck was additionally charged with failure to keep right and careless driving. He was released pending a required court appearance. Ptl. Brian Hassloch was on routine patrol at 2;30 a.m. on Hunters Lane when he observed a black Chrysler being operated in an erratic manner. The driver, George Segale, age 26, of Sparta was arrested for DWI. He was transported to the police department for processing. Segale was additionally charged with failure to keep right and careless driving. He was released pending a required court appearance. Oct. 1 Sgt. Neil Spidaletto was on routine patrol at 2;40 a.m. on Route 15, when he observed a gray Nissan being driven in an erratic manner. The driver, William litzenberger, age 33, of Shohola, Penn was arrested for DWI. He was transported to the police department for processing. Litzenberger was additionally charged with failure to maintain lane of travel and careless driving. He was released pending a required court appearance. Ptl. Brian Hassloch was on routine patrol at 2:48 a.m. on Stanhope Road when he observed a blue Jeep being driven in an erratic manner. The driver, Gilbert Hidalgo, age 38, of Sparta was arrested for DWI. He was transported to the police department for processing. Hidalgo was additionally charged with failure to keep right and careless driving. He was released pending a required court appearance.
