    July 20 Detective Terrance Mulligan responded to the Stop and Shop Pharmacy at 6:09 p.m. for a report of an attempted prescription fraud. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Susan Smith, age 54, of Pompton Plains. Smith was arrested and transported to the police department for processing. She was charged with receiving stolen property, forgery and possession of drug paraphernalia. Smith was released pending a required court appearance. July 22 Sgt Spidaletto was on routine patrol on Route 15 at 7:11 p.m., when he observed an idling vehicle in the parking lot of Zinga’s Com Patch restaurant, The driver, Kristina Farrell, age 23, of Jim Thorpe P.A., was asleep in the drivers seat. Further investigation revealed Farrell to be under the influence of alcohol She was arrested for driving while intoxicated and transported to the police department for processing. She was additionally charged with careless driving. Farrell was released pending a required court appearance. July 23 Ptl. Mark Mastandrea responded at 7:11 p.m. to a one-car motor vehicle accident on Glen Road. Upon his arrival he observed a silver Chrysler PT cruiser off the roadway into the woods. The driver Sherry Schweizer, age 46, of Wayne was found to be uninjured. Schwetzer was subsequently arrested for driving while intoxicated. She was transported to the police department for processing, She was additionally charged with careless driving, failure to maintain line and failure to keep right. She was released pending a required court appearance. The Sparta Police would like to caution residents that a series of car burglaries have been occurring in the eastern quadrant of the township. All of the burglaries have been to vehicles that have been left unlocked. We urge everyone to lock your vehicle and to secure easily removed personal items from your vehicle. We also urge that citizens report suspicious activity immediately.
