November 18 At approximately 8;06 p.m., Ptl. John Seville and Ptl. Jeff McCarrick responded to Sparta Ave., by Pope John High School, to investigate a motor vehicle accident. Further investigation resulted in the arrest of the driver, Kiernan Foley, 23, of Andover. She was charged with driving while intoxicated and careless driving, and was released pending a mandatory court date in Sparta Court. November 20 At approximately 2:40 p.m,, Sgt. Jeff Mase observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on State Highway Rte. 15. After stopping the vehicle, further investigation resulted in the arrest of Joey Hemans, 43, from Brooklyn, N.Y. He was charged with possession of crack cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while suspended, speeding, unsafe vehicle, improper tires, and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle. He was lodged in the Sussex County Jail on outstanding warrants from the Jersey City Police Department. Ptl. Marc Rubino assisted with the arrest. November 23 At 12:04 a.m., Cpl. Craig McMickle observed a Honda speeding on Woodport Rd. After stopping the car at the 7-11 store, further investigation resulted in the arrest of the driver, Jonathan Nobile, 31, of Sparta. He was charged with speeding, careless driving, failing to change his address and driving while intoxicated. He was later released. November 24 At l:48 a.m., Officer Joe Pensado responded to Park Rd. for a reported car accident. Further investigation showed that Christopher Renne, 20, of Hopatcong was traveling east on Park Rd. in his Saab and veered off the roadway near Hillside Rd. and traveled up an embankment and rolled his car. The investigation resulted in Renne being arrested and charged with careless driving, using a cell phone while driving, and driving while intoxicated. He was later released. November 25 At 8:03 p.m., Cpl. Lou Takacs stopped a black Buick on Woodport Rd. near Frank’s Pizza for having a head lamp out. Further investigation resulted in the arrest of the driver, Kyle Adams, 20, of Sparta. He was charged with failing to maintain lamps, possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a vehicle, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was later released. November 26 At l:39 a.m., Officer David Pridham observed a Jeep overshoot the stop sign on Mohawk Ave, onto Woodport Rd. and then back up. After stopping the vehicle, further investigation resulted in the arrest of the driver, Francis Babcock, 43, of Branchville. He was charged with careless driving, improper backing and driving while intoxicated. He was later released. Officer Joe Antonello observed two cars at the Gulf Station on Woodport Rd. during the hours that the station is closed. Upon checking the cars, further investigation resulted in the arrest of the driver of one car. Jonathan Damato, 18, of Andover, was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a vehicle. He was later released. November 27 At 12:55 a.m., Officer Joe Antonello observed a car with a cracked taillight on Sparta Ave. After stopping the car on Andover Rd. near Kimberly Court, further investigation resulted in the arrest of the driver, Jonathan Gallo, 22, of Columbia. He was charged with failing to maintain lamps, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a vehicle. He was later released.
