    July 21 Corporal Lou Takacs stopped a vehicle on Route 15 for a seatbelt violation. After a brief investigation, the officer determined the vehicle's operator, Sara Greenwald, 21, of Hamburg, to be operating a vehicle with a suspended license. Additionally, police determined that Greenwald had an outstanding warrant for her arrest. Further investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the operator and two passengers Brett Hosking, 19, of Franklin and David Benton, 19, of Hamburg for possession of a controlled and dangerous substance. Greenwald also was charged with failure to wear a seatbelt, failure to maintain lamps, driving while suspended, driving while intoxicated, possession of a controlled and dangerous substance in a motor vehicle and possession of a hypodermic syringe. All three parties were released pending a municipal court appearance later this month. Assisting officers were David Pridham and Sergeant Neil Spidaletto. July 25 Police officer Brian Hassloch responded to a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Sparta Avenue and Lafayette Road. Officer Hassloch's investigation revealed that Ronald Kota, 53, of Franklin, turned left from Sparta Avenue onto Lafayette Road into the path of a vehicle driven by Helen Robertson-Kimble, 39 of Newton. Kota was subsequently arrested and issued summonses for driving while intoxicated, failure to keep right at an intersection, failure to yield the right-of-way at an intersection and careless driving. Robertson-Kimble was transported to Newton Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The accident remains under investigation. Kota was released pending a municipal court appearance. July 26 At 5:45 a.m., Hamburg Patrolman D. McNulty conducted a motor vehicle stop at the intersection of Vernon and Wallkill avenues. The investigation revealed that the operator of the vehicle, Alicia Freeman, 20, of Sparta, was driving while suspended and had an outstanding warrant for her arrest from the Dover Municipal Court. In addition it was also found that the passenger, Korey Ball, 20, of Flanders, was in the possession of Xanax, a prescription medication, and several knives. Both Freeman and Ball were arrested and transported to police headquarters where Freeman was issued a summons for driving while suspended and turned over to Dover Police officers. Ball was charged with possessing a prescription drug without a prescription and possession of a weapon. Ball was released pending an appearance in the Hamburg Municipal Court.
