    May 28 At 8:45 p.m., Sparta Police received a call about a vehicle involved in a hit and run accident in Byram Township. Further investigation by Sergeant Jeff Mase and Patrolman Brian Hassloch resulted in the arrest of the driver, John Spiro, 24, at a residence in Sparta. Spiro was charged with driving while intoxicated, refusing a breathalyzer test and driving while suspended. He was later released. May 31 At 8:04 p.m., Corporal John Lamon observed a vehicle speeding on Route 15, After stopping the car, further investigation resulted in the arrest of the driver, Brian Scholia, 21, of Milford, Penn., Scholia was charged with speeding, failing to keep right, possession of a controlled and dangerous substance in a vehicle, being under the influence of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of heroin. The front-seat passenger, Stephen Cooley, 19, of Port Jervis, was charged with possession of heroin, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Both men were later released. Another passenger in the vehicle, Warren Predmore, 21, of Dingmans Ferry, Penn., was charged with possession of heroin, possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail has been set on Mr. Due to Pedmore's history, bail was set at $ 11,500 and he was lodged in the Sussex County jail. Sgt. Dennis Proctor and Officers John Seville and Adam Carbery assisted in the investigation. June 2 At l:03 a.m., Patrolman Marc Rubino observed a vehicle traveling southbound on State Highway Route 181 operating with no headlights. After stopping the vehicle, further investigation resulted in the arrest of the driver, Rebecca Wilson, 49 of Sparta. She was charged with operating an uninsured motor vehicle, operating without headlights, driving while intoxicated, careless driving, failing to keep right and failing to produce documentation. Wilson was released pending a mandatory appearance in Sparta Municipal Court at a future date.
