Sparta police officer to talk on ‘Common Sense Safety' Nov. 16

SPARTA - Cpl. Sue Jespersen of the Sparta police department will give a talk titled, “Common Sense Safety,” from 4:15 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 16 in the Sparta High School auditorium. The program, sponsored by the Sparta board of education, is open to all adults and high-school students. Cpl. Jespersen will share her experiences and offer advice on steps to take to avoid common safety mistakes. Her short talk will include safety topics related to house checks; “Neighborhood Watch;” hide-a-key; mail, phone and Internet safety; accidents; wallet and purse tips; ICE; traveling; dating, and more.
