SPARTA - The United States Achievement Academy announced that Ashley Greco, from Sparta, has been named a United States National Award Winner in Art. This award is a prestigious honor, since the Academy recognizes fewer than 10 percent of all American high school students. Ashley, a senior at Sparta High School, was nominated for this national award by Ms. Daria Cofrancesco, an art teacher at the school. Ashley will appear in the United States Achievement Academy Official Yearbook, which is published nationally. The Academy selects US AA winners upon the exclusive recommendation of teachers, coaches, and counselors, and upon the Standards of Selection set forth by the Academy. The criteria for selection include a student's academic performance, interest and aptitude, leadership qualities, responsibility, enthusiasm, motivation to learn and improve, citizenship, and dependability. Ashley is the daughter of Joseph and Lori Greco of Sparta.
