And all fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth grade participants were sent home ... following a great night of fun for all. On Saturday, March 11, the Mohawk Avenue School was transformed into a Survivor Challenge mimicking the popular television show. Tribe members had to work with their teams to build shelters, send SOS signals, defend their flags, and other physical competitions, including the highly anticipated food and eating challenge. The evening concluded with all tribes eating pizza and dancing the night away. The event was sponsored by the Sparta Recreation Department and is one of many annual programs designed for the community’s “tweenagers.” (Photos by Lori Price)
