Sparta Woman's Club seeks new members

    Sparta - The next general meeting of the Sparta Woman’s Club will convene in September. Until then, some sections of the club will remain active throughout the summer, and the club will continue to accept new members. This month’s activities, open to all members, follow. The Mah Jongg group meets every Tuesday at 7 p.m. All proceeds generated are used for local charities. For information about joining this or a spin-off group, call 973-827-4980. The Circle of Yarns meets every Thursday from noon to 5 p.m. to create pieces donated to various charities and hospital affiliates in the Sparta area. No previous knowledge of either crocheting or knitting is necessary to join. Yarn, needles, and instructions are free. For information, 973-726-0394. The Film Discussion Group meets the fourth week of each month. Movies are chosen the week before the meeting date. The group will meeting for discussion on Friday, July 28, at the Sparta Diner. The Sparta Womans’ Club is an affiliate of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs as a member of the 10th District of the N.J. State Federation of Women’s Clubs. It is open to all women who have an interest in civic-minded and community-centered activities. The club is made up of a diverse group of women who enjoy getting together on a regular basis to make new friends, work for good causes, broaden their horizons and have fun at the same time.
