SPARTA — On Thursday, Aug. 11 Specialty Surgical Center in Sparta hosted “A Day in the Operating Room” in celebration of National ASC Day. ASCs are involved in healthcare policy matters that are regularly considered at the state and federal level, and we were pleased to conduct a personal tour of the center with Gina Diorio, District Director from Congressman Scott Garrett’s office. “I appreciated the opportunity and hospitality shown to me by the physicians and employees at Specialty Surgical Center,” lauded Diorio. “I enjoyed my inside look at a local ambulatory surgical center and the surgical process.” This annual nationwide event was developed to help people across the country learn more about ambulatory surgery and the topnotch, cost-effective care ASCs provide. From pediatric patients to the elderly, patients and their families alike benefit from the high-quality of care provided and the safety and comfort of Specialty Surgical Center. Bonnie Brady, RN, Administrator stated, “We are working and opening our doors to raise awareness of ASCs and their critical role in meeting our community’s growing surgical needs.”
