Andover 5K

Andover’s Christopher Savino led the field of 214 runners to the finish of the 6th Annual Friend2Friend 5K Run contested in Andover. The 17-year-old Savino reached the finish at the Andover Professional Building on Newton-Sparta Road in 16:48, but the real winner was the Sussex County Women’s Forum that provides a free baseline mammogram program for the women of West Jersey. Newton’s 36-year-old Perrin Masi was the first local female runner to cross the line, placing third among the 137 females in the event with a time of 20:47. Age division winners included Andover’s nine-year-old Mary Ullmann and 66-year-old Anne Schwartz, Lafayette’s nine-year-old Nicholas Lemoncelli and 14-year-old Jason Frandi, Newton’s 39-year-old Dean Flering, Oak Ridge’s 42-year-old Maritza Ostlund, Sparta’s 13-year-old Sarah Konecnik, 42-year-old Michael Gaughron and 50-year-old Barbara Dumann as well as Tranquility’s 58-year-old Bogden Bienko. Picking up runnerup awards were Andover’s 14-year-old Brandon Jennings, 31-year-old Diana Eigner, 46-year-old Mark Frolich and 47-year-old Linda Heter, Lafayette’s seven-year-old Kevin Dole and 10-year-old Elizabeth Spence, McAfee’s 54-year-old Peggy Klecha, Newton’s 16-year-old duo of Molly McConnell and Kyle Reinhardt, 26-year-old Tina Fleming, 29-year-old Dan Holdt and 32-year-old Michael Smulewicz, Sparta’s 13-year-old Jenny Knoecnik, 57-year-old Rich Furlong and 60-year-old Judy Smith in addition to Stanhope’s 62-year-old John Saarman.
