Cross country championships

Chegwidden repeats as sectional champion Wallkill Valley’s Aimee Chegwidden raced to a second straight gold medal in the 2005 NJSIAA North Jersey, Section 1, Group II championships contested at Garret Mountain in West Paterson on Saturday. A junior, Chegwidden was clocked in 19:58 as she paced the Lady Rangers to a third-place team finish and a trip to Holmdel on Saturday for the NJSIAA Group II championship race. Hopatcong won the Group II boys’ team title as Mike Crum turned in a bronze-medal effort with a time of 16:47. Moving on to the NJSIAA Group championships races on Saturday at Holmdel Park in Monmouth County are the top 10 finishers and top five teams in each of the 32 public school groups.
