Dancers learn and compete at convention
SPARTA Students of Dance Dimensions by Michelle in Sparta attended the National Association of Dance and Affiliated Artists (NADAA) Convention and Competition July 12 to 15. Students took two days of classes in numerous forms of dance, performed in a dance showcase, attended an awards banquet and danced in competition. Student Jessica Middleton won a merit scholarship to attend a free one day convention session. Students Danielle Haneman and Ciara Zaugg were contracted as new Curtain Call Costume Models. Teacher and owner Michelle Farinella, was presented with the Charlie Award in recognition and appreciation of her outstanding dedication and service to the NADAA organization. Student Samantha Coplon, was crowned Pre-Teen Miss NADAA and received a trophy, certificate, sash, crown and $100.00 for her three solo dances in ballet, jazz and novelty tap. he team as a whole, earned 9 High Gold, 14 Gold, 2 High Silver, 1 Silver, 8 First Place, 6 High Score, High Score Overall Solo Age 10-12, High Score Overall Trio Age 10-12, $200 and a special award for personality plus.
