Dana Inez served four aces and slammed five kills. Sparta 2, Kearny 0 Casey Roselle led Sparta to a 2-0 win over Kearny as the Lady Spartans improved to 12-2. Roselle scooped up 11 digs, spiked five kills and delivered three service aces as Sparta won by scores of 28-26 and 25-16. Guice Askin distributed seven assists, served four aces and picked up two digs while Sarah Jankowitz recorded six kills and four digs while blocking a shot. Sparta 3, Morris Catholic 0 On Wednesday, head coach Sue McGrath’s Spartans routed Morris Catholic 2-0, cruising to wins by scores of 25-11 and 25-9. McGrath substituted freely as Becky Ryan served three aces and picked up a dig while Kaitlyn Heckenberger had three aces and a dig. Chelsea Caruso chipped in with two aces, slammed a kill and picked up a dig. Sparta 2, Vernon 1 Sparta began the week by defeating Vernon 2-1 by scores of 25-11, 16-25, 25-18 to claim the inaugural Sussex County Cup. Roselle recorded five kills and eight digs while Sarah Jankowitz served seven aces, blocked three shots, drilled five kills and picked up six digs. Katherine Wilson added six kills and a dozen digs.
