Stockholm — Pope John XXIII Regional High School defeated Morristown-Beard School in varsity hockey in the quarterfinal round of the Non-Public Tournament on Monday, February 27. The final score was 3-1. The game was played at Skylands Ice World in Stockholm, New Jersey.
Artem Buzoverya, John Spetz and Chris Walako each scored one goal for Pope John. Goalie Matt Schoer made 21 saves and Alex Blaszak had one assist for Pope John.
Mike Karrat scored one goal for Morristown-Beard. Anthony DelTufo made 19 saves for Morristown-Beard.
Second-seeded Pope John will go on to face third-seeded Don Bosco Prep in the semifinal round on Wednesday, March 1.
