SPARTA — On Friday, October 27, 2017 Sparta High School defeated Vernon Township High School in boys varsity soccer. The final score was 2-0. The last game of the regular season took place at Veterans Field in Sparta.
The Vernon Vikings record did not qualify them to participate in the post season. But the Sparta Spartans will move on to take part in the state tournament.
Eric DaSilva and Lucas Montegutti each scored one goal for Sparta. Danny Dimarco contributed one assist.
Sparta goalkeeper Alban Ukaj made three saves.
Team records: Sparta Spartans 11-7. Vernon Vikings 6-13-1.
