STOCKHOLM — Sparta Jefferson United defeated Kinnelon High School (Morris County, N.J.) in varsity ice hockey on Saturday, November 25, 2017. The final score was 5-2. The season opening game took place at Skylands Ice World in Stockholm, New Jersey.
Jaxon Mase scored one goal and contributed two assists for Sparta-Jefferson United. Nolan Kafafian, Colin Higdon, Matt Redding and Nick Montone each scored one goal for Sparta. Kafafian also contributed one assist.
Goalkeeper Logan Hanek blocked 16 shots for Sparta.
Jameson Dugan scored twice for Kinnelon. John Loch contributed two assists.
Goalkeeper Brett Lewis made 47 saves for Kinnelon.
