Sparta Little League Opening Day set for April 30

SPARTAnBecause of an editing error in this week's Sparta Independent, we reported the wrong date for the Opening Day of the Sparta Little League. The ceremony will be held Saturday, April 30. The parade onto the field will begin at 8:30, followed by introductions, awards, the national anthem, and the first pitch. Teams should arrive by arrive by 8 a.m. and begin lining up on the grass area to the right side of the road beginning at the drinking fountain behind the backstop on field 6, starting with the youngest guys first (prep) and then going in age order up the road toward the Station Park entrance. We regret the error.
