NEWTON — The Sussex Stags defeated the Nassau Punishers (Roosevelt, New York) on Saturday, August 26. The final score was 22-6. The semipro football game took place at Newton High School in Sussex County.
The Stags improve to 9-1 overall and 6-1 in League play. The New York Rebels handed the Stags their first loss of the season on Saturday, August 19 by the score 39-20. The Sussex Stags will return home to Newton High School on September 9 to take on the New Jersey Pirates.
