Sussex Hall of Fame elects officers

    NEWTON-The Sussex County Sports Hall of Fame recently elected new officers for 2005. Bob Hopkins was elected President; Dick McKeeby, 1st Vice President; John Gill, 2nd Vice President; Jeff Beebe, Treasurer; Maureen Hopkins, Secretary; and Johnny Regan, Historian. The 2005 goals for the organization include expanding membership to 200, having 50 members at each meeting, inducting outstanding athletes in November as the Class of 2005, and expanding their involvement with the Sussex County community. Anyone can become a member of the Hall of Fame. Members can nominate candidates for induction and vote for the Class of 2005. Prerequisites for an athlete to be considered for nomination include four years residency in Sussex County, two years of sports competition in the county, and a minimum age of 28.
