This year the Turkey Trot is partnering with the Sparta Ecumenical Food Pantry to collect holiday food items for neighbors in need. Non-perishable items will be accepted at 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 27 at the Turkey Trot Packet Pickup and the Pasta Party in the main ballroom of the Lake Mohawk Country Club and on Thanksgiving morning starting at 7 a.m. in the ballroom and at various locations near the starting line of the Krogh's Turkey Trot. Suggested items include: cranberry sauce, stuffing or potato mix, canned vegetables, chicken stock, canned soup, and holiday desserts that do not require refrigeration and have an expiration date into mid January.
